Camps

Carrabassett Valley Academy provides training camps in many ski and snowboard disciplines including Alpine, Backcountry, Freestyle, Ski Cross, and Snowboard disciplines. These training camps are for competitive student-athletes. Whether it's an on-snow camp at the world-class training venues of Sugarloaf Mountain, or a camp at training venues around the world, CVA offers individualized coaching to prepare athletes physically and mentally to compete at their personal best.

Alpine Camps

Carrabassett Valley Academy is proud to offer a variety of Alpine Racing training camps at Sugarloaf Mountain and at training venues around the world. Camps provide student-athletes with a strong foundation to get a head start on the competition. We invite student-athletes from any club to come learn from the some of the best coaches in the US, make friends, and enjoy the CVA experience.

  • Alpine Pre-Holiday Training Camp

    The Pre-Holiday camp consists of four days of high-volume training focused on both technical and tactical aspects utilizing the CVA/Colby T-bar and other training venues to maximize our training opportunities. Work on developing technical skills through directed free skiing, GS and SL drill work, and tactical skills in both GS and SL gate training blocks. Space is limited, please register as soon as possible.

    Session Dates: December 20-23 (Friday – Monday 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    Cost: $900 (does not include lift tickets). Full payment due at registration.

  • Alpine Immersion Program 2024-2025

    The CVA Alpine Immersion Program for racers in grades 5-8 supports youth ski racing progression in a fun and safe environment that fosters a life-long love of the sport. The Immersion Program utilizes a fundamentals-based ski curriculum to develop skills and habits for future success in ski racing. Each session is 3-days of ski training and academic time for student-athletes to work on assignments from their home school. The CVA Alpine Immersion program is a great opportunity for racers to improve quickly and determine if they are ready to take the next step and join the Academy.

    Session Dates: January 8-10, February 12-14, and March 19-21
    Cost:
    $700 per session or $2,100 for all 3 sessions. Full payment due at registration.

Freestyle Camps

If you are an athlete interested in moguls or freeski (park and pipe), a CVA camp is for you. As the sport of freestyle skiing has evolved, so has the way in which these student-athletes train. With a focus on development and performance, CVA offers training camps to help freestyle student-athletes reach their optimal performance.

  • Bag Jump Camp

    CVA is excited to offer an exclusive early-season training opportunity for moguls, freeski, and snowboard athletes with prior experience in skiing or snowboarding and a commitment to enhancing their skills. This one-day camp is designed for athletes aiming to kick off their competitive season with a strong start. The day will begin with a warm-up and trampoline session at the Carrabassett Valley Anti-Gravity Complex, followed by airbag training on Competition Hill. Top CVA Academy coaches will be on-site, providing expert guidance and personalized coaching. Space is limited, register soon.

    Eligibility: Athletes aged 9-15 with USASA or USSA memberships.
    Location: Carrabassett Valley Anti-Gravity Complex and Sugarloaf Mountain
    Date: New date to be determined.
    Cost: $150 (does not include lift tickets). Full payment is due at registration.

Snowboard Camps

More than 25 years ago, CVA was the first academy to develop a program specifically for snowboarders and continues to be one of the leading snowboard academies. Our student-athletes compete in boardercross racing, snowboard alpine racing, and freestyle. Our camps teach solid fundamentals and correct techniques, allowing student-athletes to build confidence while riding at Maine's Sugarloaf Mountain.

Train alongside CVA Academy student-athletes that compete on the World's stage. CVA is the top Ski Cross program in the East, featuring an Olympian-designed cross course, the rugged terrain of Sugarloaf Mountain, and a world-class coaching team.

    Each three-day session focuses on building a strong foundation of skills, with expert coaching and personalized feedback. Plus, with dedicated academic time built into the schedule, you'll stay on track with your studies while pushing your performance on the hill.
